EAPT arrives in Malta in April with a total guarantee of over €300,000

• The schedule

Since its summer relaunch, the EAPT has positioned itself as a low-cost weekend series. Small buy-ins, a weekend schedule and an evening start time make for a productive day on holiday: you can take in the sights in the morning and afternoon (the EAPT holds its festivals in some of Europe's most touristy cities), then sit back and show off your poker skills to your opponents.

The EAPT in Malta will be a real highlight in this regard. The series runs from April 5th to 10th (Friday-Wednesday) with buy-ins starting at €70 and many events starting after 17:00. EAPT Malta guests will be offered a schedule of five cup tournaments, two of which will be multi-day events, while the others will be a nice addition to the main events.

- Flight to MPP - April 5-7 / €120 buy-in, €50,000 guarantee + 1 trip to the EAPT Grand Final worth €5,000. The title may be confusing, but this is actually a regular multi-day tournament with a low buy-in and a solid guarantee. Players can make it to the final day of play through any of the four starting flights, with everyone already in the money on the final day.

- Main Event - April 8-10 / buy-in €560, guarantee €200,000 + 5 packages to the EAPT Grand Final. The EAPT Main Event has the familiar buy-in and structure for all EAPT guests: 4 starting flights, each played to ITM. After 20-40 minute levels, all surviving players advance to Day 2 and play until the end. The main tournament has a satellite schedule, both live at Portomaso Casino and online at GGPoker (more on that below).

The other three EAPT Cup tournaments in Malta are single day events:

- PLO Bounty [50Ko] - a low cost (€120) tournament for Omaha enthusiasts with an instant €50 payout for every opponent knocked out;

- The High Roller is EAPT Malta's highest stakes event with a €1,100 buy-in and a €25,000 guarantee. It takes place on the final day of the series;

- Closer Event - For those who find the High Roller tournament too expensive, the festival's Closer Event will start at the same time. The buy-in is just €120 and the guarantee is €10,000.

• Main Event Packages

To save on accommodation during the EAPT in Malta, special Main Event packages are available. They can be purchased using Luxon Pay and consist of a Main Event buy-in and five nights' accommodation at the five-star Hilton Hotel.

The savings are not bad, without member packages, rooms at the Hilton Malta for the dates of the series start from €240 per night.

• The Venue 

EAPT Malta will be held at the Portomaso Casino, located in the heart of St. Julian's. In addition to poker, guests at Casino Portomaso can spend their time playing traditional casino games such as slots, roulette, blackjack and punto banco. Reasonable bets that won't make your head spin and a good selection of places to relax, from a newly renovated lounge to a great beer restaurant with gourmet dinners, Casino Portomaso has it all.

• Online Satellites

One of the main partners of the EA Poker Tour is the largest network of online poker rooms, GG Poker. And qualifiers for the EAPT Malta Main Event are already running in all the rooms on the network. Online, you can win a €1,650 membership package (as mentioned above, this package includes the tournament buy-in and 5 nights in a five-star hotel).

You can start your journey to the EAPT trophy virtually for free. The satellites start with Centrolls (tournaments with buy-ins of 1 Eurocent):

Centroll for €0.01 → Quarterfinals [Phase 1] for €1.65 → Semifinals [Phase 2] for €16.50 → Final Satellite for €165.

As the name implies, the satellites are played in a Phase format.

Phases are special qualifiers where you have to survive a certain number of levels in order to advance your stack to the next phase.

The final satellite with a buy-in of €165 will start on February 25th at 21:05 CET. The guaranteed prize pool is 5 EAPT Malta Main Event packages. All players will start with a stack of 100,000 chips (100 BB), with levels increasing every 8 minutes.
